Christopher U. Kalu,PhD, is an Associate Professor under external assessment as a full Professor of Development Finance of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He was the immediate past Head of Department of Economics, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. A Deputy Director at the moment at UNIZIK Business School ( UBS) where he is in charge of Certificate programs and academic matters. He is the current Coordinator of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) HODs Forum of Nigerian Tertiary Institutions.

An adjunct Faculty member of CBN Centre for Finance and Economics, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. He has been a Research Fellow, UN Institute for Economic Development and Planning ( IDEP) Senegal; a Full Member, Nigerian Economic Society, a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administration; Member, International Institute for Policy Review and Development Strategy; Associate, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers; Member, Association of Capital Market Academics of Nigeria and Member, Nigerian Association of Macroeconomic Modelers. He has also applied to be a Fellow of Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research ( CEPDeR).

He has published extensively in both local and international peer reviewed journals in the subject areas of development economics, health economics, trade economics and finance. He has also been a Lead paper Presenter in some Conferences. He is a Reviewer, Editorial Member, Deputy Editor and Editor- in- Chief of various peer reviewed journals including a Reviewer, Journal of Applied Statistics(JAS) of the Central Bank of Nigeria

Christopher has made several Book Chapter contributions and published some economics and finance related textbooks: Business Economics: Theory and Practice(2018); A Tertiary Literature Review of Sustainable Development Goals( SDGs)(2020); A Synoptic of Economic Planning and Reform Agenda for Nigeria (2021) and Applied Economics: Issues, Concepts. He has made outstanding contributions to the Society, Charity and Humanity.

 

He is an Assistant Pastor in Anambra Province 1, Region 47. Christopher has consulted for several private and public sector organizations including: the Macroeconomic Division, Federal Ministry of Finance and Budget, United Nations/IDEP on Social Policy; Ministry of Social Development & Welfare, Government House, Anambra State and NEW MAP as Project Evaluator of erosion sites in Umuahia South.
